My friend Chalida shared an article about the Palestinian fire brigade rushing across the border into Israel to help put out wildfires. “As a Palestinian Muslim, I’m not rejoicing Israel’s wildfires”, whilst Palestinian firemen help putting out fire.
It reminded me of an episode from Yes, Prime Minister.
Have you noticed how slow countries are in responding to offers of help from other countries when there is a disaster? It is because the host country has to consider the fact that spies and infiltrators could be sent in along too. This is especially so if the two countries are at odds with one another.
Now you know why.
