Spice Children: ‘Bye, Mrs Chee’

It is the end of the school term and I told the Spice Children to make sure they thank and say good-bye to their teachers.

Me: Make sure you thank them properly. And say good-bye properly. Not just, “Bye!” and then walk off! What’s your teacher’s name? Mrs Chee?

Saffron burst out laughing. His sister and I looked at him.

He explained, “Mrs Chee bye!”
